The Random Photo Journal Writing Prize is now open for submissions!
Until the closing date of November 1st 2018, we invite entries on the theme “On the Cusp of Adulthood” from both published and unpublished writers anywhere on the African continent.
Up for grabs is 250$ and a chance to be published in our upcoming magazine issue.

When a person is on the cusp, you mean they are between two states in their lives or are about to fully transition into one. we are seeking unpublished works about the borderline of human nature, centred around the theme “On the Cusp of Adulthood” for our next online and print publication. Alongside runner up, prizes, a shortlist of ten writers will be published in our Journal. Last time, our 2016 – 2017 winner and 2017 – 2018 winners featured both unpublished writers who went on to be literary masters! Our competition is one you should seriously consider entering. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
*Note: Please submit your work in a Word document, 12 pt. font, Garamond, double-spaced.
All works to be submitted must be unpublished even on a personal website.
Poetry*: Submit up to three long-form poems. There are no limits on length. Please compile them all into one Word document with each work’s title clearly stated.
Prose*: Submit up only one short fiction or non-fiction, word count is 2,500 to 3000 words max.
Send all submissions to email@example.com and attach the files to the email (Word documents only no Pdf or Rtf). Please include your first name, last name, hometown, and a short third-person biography. Pieces submitted without this information will not be read.
